Care Manager

AVENS currently has a fulfilling and integral managerial role available in the Resident Care department for an experienced nursing leader. Reporting to the Director of Care, the Care Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily Resident Care operations at AVENS – A Community for Seniors, with an eye for quality and excellence. This position is directly responsible for planning and organizing the resident care program, ensuring staff meet performance expectations, as well as monitoring and constantly striving to improve the standard of care provided to AVENS’ 57 residents. Education and Experience Requirements

· Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing/eligible for registration with the Registered Nurses Association of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut (RNANT/NU)

· Minimum three (3) years of nursing experience in long term care or community health care

· Management and supervisory experience is an asset

· Strong computer skills are an asset

· Experience working in a long term care setting is preferred

·Solid understanding of dementia and the aging process

· Must be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check

Pay and Benefits

SALARY: $107,152 – $121,660 per annum, plus a $2,500 annual Northern Travel Allowance

PENSION PLAN: 8% Employer matched defined contribution (DC) pension plan
