AVENS AWARDED FUNDING FROM SECTOR TRANSFORMATION FUND – LOCAL PROJECTS BY COMMUNITY HOUSING TRANSFORMATION CENTRE

AVENS – A Community for Seniors has been awarded funding to complete an assessment of the Avens Campus focusing on the Aven Manor building. Aven Manor is the oldest building providing long-term care services to 29 residents from the Northwest Territories. The last building assessment was completed over a decade ago, and major recent upgrades include the new kitchen and laundry facilities constructed in Aven Pavilion providing support services to Aven Manor and Aven Cottages.

The Community Housing Transformation Centre has awarded $49,980 in funding for the AVENS – Project – Campus and Manor Infrastructure Review. This critical project will contribute towards the creation of a master plan for the campus assets and organization development required to obtain the final master plan.

Daryl Dolynny, President and CEO of AVENS, states, “Receiving this funding from the Sector Transformation Fund is a significant milestone for AVENS. It reaffirms our commitment to enhancing the living conditions and quality of life for our seniors. This building condition assessment and concept options analysis for AVENS is not just about infrastructure; it’s about fostering a community where our residents can thrive and receive the care they deserve. We are excited to embark on this important project and look forward to what the future holds for our community.”

AVENS is no stranger to undertaking large-scale projects, and this new phase will bring more options to support seniors aging with community support. AVENS is proud to partner with the Sector Transformation Fund through The Centre in the analysis and design of the future of AVENS campus facilities.
