Built in 2007, Aven Ridge is an independent seniors housing complex consisting of four duplexes for a total of eight units. Each unit is a fully contained one bedroom residence plus a den for those seniors who are able to live independently. Aven Ridge Unit Numbers go from 7A-7B through to 10A-10B. A majority of the funding for the operation and maintenance of Aven Ridge is provided through the NWT Housing Corporation. Eligibility for AVENS independent seniors housing is determined carefully. Applicants must be 60 years or older and meet criteria in the areas of citizenship, residency, income, independence and suitability. Once an applicant has been deemed to meet these criteria, AVENS uses a formula to assess priority for tenancy.
