Our Adult Day Program has been in operation since January 4, 2011.

The purpose of the Adult Day Program is to offer daytime respite and support to people in the community caring for family members. The program provides an alternative form of care for clients who want to remain independent and who may otherwise be isolated at home.

The Adult Day Program provides a secure homelike environment. It provides clients with the opportunity to leave their home, make new friends and participate in activities that may not otherwise be available to them.

Programs and Services for Clients: A safe, friendly and comfortable environment; therapy programs under supervision; lunch and snacks are provided; reminders for medications; emergency first aid; easy access to hairdressing services; limited personal care; easy access to the Alzheimer’s Society support services; caregiver support.

Opportunities for Clients: Recreation Therapy; exercise; friendship; community outings; sensory stimulation provided through a variety of individual and group activities; rest and quiet time.

Services Not Provided for Clients: Transportation services; nursing services, dressing changes, personal care products; morning and evening meals; bathing; foot care; laundry services; overnight respite services.

Program Hours: Monday to Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm
Closed – Weekends & Statutory holidays

Cost: $10.00 per day

Client Eligibility: At least 60 years of age; Resident of the NWT with a Health Care Card; sober and drug free.
